Mayor's Book Club
During the 2023 State of the County address, Mayor Wilson announced a way for Salt Lake County residents to engage together: a community-wide book club.
This selection we will read Terry Tempest Williams’s article, "I Am Haunted By What I've Seen At Great Salt Lake." This harrowing article and accompanying photographs tell the story of the retreating Great Salt Lake and the repercussions its potential death will have on the Valley, the State, and the Nation.
We are thrilled that Terry Tempest Williams will join me Saturday, August 26th at the Salt Lake City Public Library at 11 am, for a discussion along with Professor Ben Abbott, and Friends of Great Salt Lake.
This will be a remarkable event where we can all learn about the threats the dying GSL poses to our community and what we can do! I hope to see you there!
The Book Club is an opportunity for our community to engage around a common theme or interest. Following the reading, we will engage in person in discussion and conversation. We would love to have you participate!
Get engaged!
